History Of The College 

Akhil Bhartiya Sanskrit Hindi Vidyapeeth, Khamhar, Begusarai is located in the State of Bihar. This Vidyapeeth is a constituent unit under the jurisdiction of Kameshwar Singh Darbhanga Sanskrit University, Kameshwarnagar, Darbhanga (Bihar). The site of thisVidyapeeth is very good. It is situated in the lap of nature at a quiet place out, of the village. It has a healthy surroundings. The Vidyapeeth building faces to the south. It differs from other colleges in many ways. It is famous for good teaching and discipline. The teachers of this Vidyapeeth love the students as their own children. It is difficult to find such teachers in other colleges. The students are well disciplined, obedient and respectful to their teachers. The staffs are punctual, generous, dutiful and helpful to all.

The history of this Vidyapeeth is very glorious. Pt. Sudhakar Shastri, a well known educationist, born in small village, Khamhar Begusarai, dreamt of spreading Sanskrit education to the masses of society and revolutionized the educational sector in Bihar. He is the founder of the Vidyapeeth and focused his energies for the cause of Sanskrit education with emphasis on professional area. He has the opinion that Sanskrit is the mother of all languages. Pandit Sudhakar Shastri had been working as a teacher of Rishikul Kangri Vidyapeeth, Haridwar, who had the degrees of Archarya in Sahitya, Vyakana, Veda, Jyotish, Darshan and Dharmshastra.Indeed, he was a man of versatile genius, widely known for hospitality and Social Service. Under the leadership of Pt. Sudhakar Shastri, Shri Sant Prasad Singh, S/o -Let Japo Singh, Shri Jado Singh S/o Let Janki Singh, Ram Pratap Singh S/o - Balo Singh, Shri Namo Narayan Singh S/o Ram Tahal Singh, Ram Snehi Singh S/o Hridi Singh, Shiv Ram Singh, S/o Sukhadev Singh, Sri Ram Pratap Singh S/o Sri Ram Raksha Singh, Shri Pyare Singh S/o Shri Heman Singh, Shri Rajo Singh S/o Shri Kailu Singh, Shri Damodar Singh S/o Shri Achari Singh, Shri Jado Singh S/o Sano Singh, Shri Bagirath Singh S/o Shri Domi Singh, Shri Ram Bahadur Singh S/o Shri Mahavir Singh, Shri Suraj Narayan Singh S/o Shri Bhagvat Singh, Shri Baidyanath Ray S/o Shri Tilakdhari Ray and some education loving people of Khamar organized a meeting and they donated their valuable land to start the unit naming “ Akhil Bhartiya Sanskrit Hindi Vidyapeet, Khamhar, Begusarai in 1965 for spread of traditional education of Sanskrit. 

Akhil Bhartiya Sanskrit Hindi Vidyapeeth, Khamhar, Begusarai was established on 10-04-1965 . It is a degree college. Since then Upshastri Level (Intermediate) two years course and Shastri Level (B.A Honour’s and pass course) three years Degree course have been imparting Sanskrit education in this Vidyapeeth. By the Order of the KSDS University Kameshwarnagar Darbhanga. Sahitya, Vyakaran, Veda, Jyotish, English, Hindi, Sanskrit M.A And Economics are in its Curriculum. Since 2023 CBSC Curriculum is running in this Vidyapeeth. This Vidyapeeth had attained the first temporary affiliation by, K.S.D.S. University, Kameshwarnagar, Darbhanga. Vide Lt. No. ………………….. Dated. -15-06-1968. This Vidyapeeth had attained Permanent affiliation by K.S.D.S. University, Kameshwarnagar, Darbhanga. Vide Lt. no- G/4E, 20/7341, Dated – 3-11-1970. After a consecutive venture the Vidyapeeth has been notified as a constituent unit by the notification vide Lt. no. 125 , Dated – 24-02-1982 of the education department of Bihar Government. This Vidyapeeth has been registered under section 2(F) & 12(B) of the UGC Act 1956 by University Grant Commission, Bahadur Sah Zafar Marg, New Delhi Vide Lt. No. -8-678/2011(CPT-1/C), Dated – 04/05/2012. It is about 7 K.M north to the Begusarai Railway Station and 38 km south to the Rosra Railway Stationby the road side in Khamhar Villege. This Vedyapeeth is the only one Sanskrit Degree college of the Begusarai District. It is thefamous Institute for the Sanskrit education. The students of this Vidyapeeth are working in different important institutes of India. It is the cultural heritage of this area. In Future diploma and certificate courses will be organized with the permission of the university.  

Education is the manifestation of love and my most cherished possession. Education drives away ignorance and through illumination it emboldens a man to a righteous thought and action. It empowers a student and enlarges the horizon of his mind. It energizes a society and enables a man to earn his living with respect and praise. Hence my love for it. The purpose of education is to teach our children to think and develop a capacity to reason out facts. Students should keep in mind the importance of planning and prioritizing their time and the effective use of it which are essential to achieve success.

Education plays a key role in the overall development of the society. The role of education is definitely not limited to giving and grasping knowledge and theory. The true goal of education transcends much beyond just awarding degree and certificate to the students. As Mahatma Gandhi said, “By Education I mean an all round drawing out of the best in child and man-body, mind and spirit.” The ultimate goal of education is the discovery of the meaning of life and the fulfillment of life and all mankind as well as for oneself. The quest of education is knowledge,humanity, culture, wisdom and sharpness but it should be noted that knowledge is not given but earned and character is not granted but cultivated.

Students should always think and review – discover the cause and effect of every event in which they are involved. Do not surrender or become a slave to youthful fancies and indulgences. Be steady in your studies. Learn to enjoy hard work – particularly your studies. Think wisely, think systematically. Always prepare yourself for next day’s lesson. Be very serious and attentive in class.

Akhil Bhartiya Sanskrit Hindi Vidyapeeth, Khamhar, Begusarai not only focuses on the traditional education of Sanskrit curriculum, but also help in the development of a student personality, extra – curricular activities and over all perspective. Everything that makes a good institution in a highly trained faculty, rich library, teaching methods, liberty to think and express themselves – we have it here. The objective of higher education in rural area is associated with employment as it ensures a positive attitude to see the universe from better angle and to analyze, determine and apply an individuals idea in a constructive development of society.

In order to accomplish our vision and mission, we are prepared to take as much effort as possible for the betterment of academic scenario in India. We have to continue to move ahead for producing and maintaining the best. We run four departments Sahitya, Vyakaran, Veda, Jyotish which endeavour to enrich the academic and extra-curricular standards of our students. Our teachers work hard throughout the year with the students to provide them high quality educational experience. I encourage all students to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the college and involve themselves in all the extra curricular activities that are offered. The overall development of the mind and body is a sign of a healthy and complete development. The future belongs to you; your need, therefore, is to prepare yourself for an active participation in the world. This participation demands that you become well informed and hence develop yourself like a pioneer and ultimately grow as responsible citizens.

I firmly believe that Akhil Bhartiya Sanskrit Hindi Vidyapeeth, Khamhar, Begusarai is more than just a place to learn. It gives you a chance to grow by equipping with everything you need to achieve excellence. It endows with progressive futuristic outlook aims continual growth in the quality of all academic activities with a sense of commitment to fully meet the expectations of the students, parents and society at large. We are going to start in diploma and certificate course in future with the permission of the university.
